The Chevrolet Chevelle SS 1964-1973 represented Chevrolet’s entry into the midsize muscle car battle. The Chevelle SS was the high performance version of the Chevy Chevelle. The SS had its own line of engines and performance equipment. The 1964 Chevelle SS came with just a 283 or 327 V8. Engine Factory offers a nice Selection of Small Blocks that directly replace the 283 and 327. It also originally sported the powerful 396 V8s and eventually one of the most powerful engines in muscle car history, the legendary LS6 454 in 1970. Look over our Big Block Packages as well.
